As our parents aged, we knew we couldn't always be there to provide the level of care they needed. That's when we turned to Amy's Helping Hands, a local personal support worker (PSW) agency, for assistance.
From the moment our PSW arrived at our parents' home, we were impressed by her warmth and compassion. She quickly established a genuine connection with our parents, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
Her dedication to providing exceptional care was evident in every interaction. She expertly assisted with their daily needs, from bathing and dressing to meal preparation and medication management. But beyond the physical care, she went above and beyond to engage them in meaningful conversations, share stories, and bring laughter into their lives.
We were particularly grateful for her unwavering patience and understanding. She recognized that our parents sometimes struggled with their limitations and always treated them with the utmost respect and dignity.
Her presence also gave us, as their children, peace of mind. Knowing that our parents were receiving the care and attention they deserved allowed us to focus on our own lives without the constant worry that often comes with caring for aging parents.
Words cannot fully express our gratitude for the impact our PSW has had on our family. She has not only provided practical support but has also become a trusted companion and friend to our parents.

The health and safety of our clients, employees and community are our top priority. Older adults are increasingly vulnerable to COVID19 and we have implemented comprehensive policies for our staff and our clients regarding healthy practices to prevent transmission, screening for symptoms, travel history and restrictions in accordance with provincial and federal regulations. We have also supplied staff with disinfection kits to reduce the potential for infection and supporting them and our clients through this troubling time. Moving forward please evaluate the care that you are receiving from Amy’s Helping Hands. Determine what is essential and necessary. For some nothing will change however others may need to look to limit the number of visits that could perhaps be deemed as non-essential. At this juncture, all clients should refrain from going out in the community and limit visitors to only those essential to their daily care needs.
At this time we are only accepting new clients that are for essential needs on a case by case basis. For potential future care needs please and when situations change we will look to reach out and organize care for you.
